The main aims of the organisation are;

bulletTo rescue stray & unwanted cats & kittens, rehabilitate & re-home them.
bulletTo encourage the neutering of all cats & kittens not required for breeding.
bulletTo inform the public on the care of cats & kittens.
bulletBegun in 1927 we are the oldest & largest feline charity in the UK. Cats Protection homes over 70,000 cats each year.
bulletThe organisation maintains 14 headquarters shelters and 250 voluntary branches throughout the UK, stretching from the Shetland Islands in the north to Truro in the South West.
bulletNinety per cent of the charity’s rescue work is carried out by 5000 volunteers
bulletCats Protection helps 165,000 cats.
bulletCP's volunteers put in six million hours per year caring for cats and handle 75,000 calls from the public every month.
bulletOur branch is run totally by volunteers.

The more people we have to help spreads the workload & makes it possible for us to help even more cats.

Many of our volunteers work on a rota basis. If you wish to contact us please phone our help-line; 01224 749568 & you will get the correct number for who is on that week.

We also have a charity shop at 96 King Street open Mon.-Fri. 10am-4pm & Sat 10am-2pm, tel; 01224 634894.

Donations of books, bric-a-brac, good quality clothes & unwanted gifts are always welcome.
